Passing of Golden Eagle Widow Janel Howell
 

It is my very sad duty to report the passing of Janel Howell, widow of Golden Eagle Emeritus LtGen Jefferson Davis “Beak” HOWELL Jr., USMC (Ret), on 10 November 2025. She is survived by her two children, son Jefferson Davis III, daughter Melissa Jane and four grandsons and one granddaughter. Beak and Janel met in Pensacola in 1964 while Beak was in flight training, married in April 1966 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage before Beak’s Last Take Off in July 2025.
 
Services will be held at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin, Texas, at 1100 on 15 December 2025, where Janel will be interred with Beak. Attire is Aloha or casual.
